MiSa Jazz with Michael Brown on Sax at pop up gig

Misa Jazz popup gig at Haberfield

MiSa Jazz performed as a trio on Saturday 22 October at Federation Place, Haberfield. This was our second ‘popup’ gig as part of the 2022 popup music marathon presented by Inner West Council. This time we were joined by saxophonist Michael Brown.

Despite a grim forecast and threats of rain all morning, it stayed fine and dry and we played for a bit over two hours to a friendly and interested audience. There was even some very enthusiastic dancing by some parties. Lots of fun!

For this concert we played many of our original tunes as well as some by Michael Brown. It is always nice to play our own works and always fascinating to hear how they develop over time, especially when someone else joins us to play them. We mixed the originals in with plenty of jazz standards, Latin numbers, and funky/bluesy tunes too. Thanks to Inner West Council for supporting this great initiative to get musical art onto the streets. We loved being part of it.
